Embellish Your Walls

Written by: Vinyl Accent

Decorating a room can be daunting- especially when it comes to figuring out what to do with those blank walls that seem to pop out at you. By leaving walls bare, you are seriously neglecting a huge part of your decorating space; the room may feel bland and unconnected. If you cover your walls with too many paintings or pictures, you could leave the room feeling cluttered and cramped. However, by using simple and personal embellishments, your walls will give the perfect and final touch to your home decor theme.

Find Dimension
The first thing you'll want to do is find the perfect three dimensional piece for your wall. This may be a beautiful mirror, a family portrait, a rustic painting, or a sleek shelf. Find the right piece for your home by matching decor styles and sizes with your existing spaces. By creating dimension on your walls, you connect the wall to the rest of the room. Be careful to not overdo this step, the wall decor should not overpower a room.

Embellish, Embellish, Embellish
Now it's time to add the personal touch or to take your theme one step farther by using vinyl graphics and lettering. Vinyl graphics and lettering apply easily to almost any surface and give the look and feel of hand-painted lettering without all the hard work. They won't damage your walls and can be removed when you decide to change decor themes.

With vinyl lettering, you can truly customize and embellish your walls. You may want to surround a family portrait with names of each family member, or use a beautiful quote around your wedding photo. You can give a beach themed room extra flair by adding a vinyl mural with palm trees and a setting sun, or you may choose to decorate with an inspirational saying that will reinforce your personal convictions on a daily basis. Vinyl embellishments help make connections to your decor theme, enhance the personality of any home, and give you the chance to truly make your space one of a kind.
